Traveling to west of Canada (Vancouver, Banff, Jasper)

Healing trip in Vancouver, Banff, Jasper (2014.08.18 - 2014.08.23)

I booked a Coho tour which is provided by local company whose name is Moose 1 month ago. On one hand, I was really looking forward to traveling. On the other hand, I was worried. Because not only I should have to carry out the tour schedule but I need to talk and hang out with foreigners in English. But it was good, consequently.

Firstly,
I've stayed for 2 days at the Samesun hostel in Vancouver. I could see some popular spots which are Stanley park, English bay, Gas town and Canada place. I don't have a good sense of direction, but a friend of mine has a nice sense of direction. So I felt comfortable during the trip by ourselves. First day in Vancouver, I went to Victoria island by Ferry. People who are travelers normally stay for more than 2 days, I just stayed there for a day. As the Ferry schedule, I couldn't see a bunch of good places, I could feel '여유로움', '한가함'.
Second day in Vancouver, I went to Stanley park. I think Stanley park is the biggest, beautiful, peaceful park I've ever seen. If I had ridden a bike well, I could ride a bike along a beach. So I took a shuttle bus that I can see attractive points instead of bike. It was good too.
After that, I was supposed to meet my friend who is Ah Hae. I've met her at a YBM language academy. We've been kept in touch with each other almost for a year and finally we met in Vancouver. Oh my gosh~!! 꿈이야 생시야!! Anyway, we had dinner which is Greek food and talked about our experiences which are we've had. I really glad to meet her.
Finishing dinner time, I was heading to Gas town. I loved it as soon as I saw. I fascinated by lots of lights and fancy restaurants, pretty stores.


Secondly, I joined the tour. I met Carrie who is not only a driver but also guide. When I saw her, I didn't expect that she will be our guide and driver. Because a Korean company which is located in Toronto has a driver and guide separately.

While we were traveling, we dropped by a variety of water falls and lakes which are amazing scenery. That's healing..!!!!
In addition, I learned some words which are glacier, avalanche and more. Even though I couldn't understand explanations of a guide perfectly, I felt so nice. 왠지 모르게 말이지!!ㅎ

One thing I remember vividly is when I stayed in Jasper. That area has limited water, electricity, food etc. We couldn't take a shower and use heater etc. I almost caught a cold. 아 진짜 색다른 경험 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Although we've had bad conditions, we had made a bunch of fun. For instance, playing card game, cooking dinner together..

The last day in my trip, I stayed in Banff. I hit upon "Muju". I thought it's similar between Muju and Banff. Those are a small town and a tourist spot. Moreover, Both of them are famous places for skiing, snowboarding. When I stayed in Banff, I went hot spring and mountain which is Rocky. It was so awesome. I was surprised at grand mountain and beautiful scenery. However, I couldn't see views clearly because of the weather. There were heavy mist mostly. I felt sorry that. 쪼금 아쉬웠다.

In conclusion, I really glad to have experiences which is this trip. Although I'm almost sick of seeing water falls and lakes and the cloudy, raining weather, I could see many stunning views and feel nature. 아, 대 자연이란...!!

And... I've had friends who are from HongKong. As long as we keep in touch with each other, I can visit Hongkong again some day. ㅋㅋㅋ

Montreal & Quebec에 가다!

캐나다 와서 나이아가라 이후로 첫 번째 여행이 된, 몬트리올/퀘백!
비아레일을 타고 몬트리올 가서 차를 빌려 몬트리올, 퀘백 여행을 할 계획이었는데, 여행가는 첫 날부터 늦잠자서 기차 못 탈 뻔하고, 비오고ㅋㅋㅋ

하지만 언제나처럼 여행은 설레였다. 6월3일, 비가 내리는 토론토에서 출발해서 대 여섯시간을 달려 몬트리올에 도착했다. 몬트리올에 내리자마자 거짓말처럼 햇빛이 쨍쨍하다가 차를 빌리고 나오자마자 비가 억수같이 쏟아져내렸다. 허기를 채우려고 알아둔 푸틴 맛집에 가서 샌드위치, 푸틴, 샐러드 등등 시켜서 엄청 흡입해주고 나서 장딸롱 마켓에 가 이것저것 구경하고, 대지하도 쇼핑센터에서 쇼핑도 하고, 몽로얄 전망대 올라가서 야경도 보고. 이것도 하고 저것도 하고 ㅋㅋ

그렇게 하루를 마치고 M Montreal Hostel에서 같은 방을 쓴 포르투갈에서 온 Nuno를 만나게 되었다. 그는 대학교 교수이며, 포토그래퍼였다. 그리고 그는 몬트리올에서 만난 여자와 내일 퀘백을 갈 거고, 퀘백 근처에 있는 작은 마을에서 고래 사진을 찍을 예정이라고 했다. 그 이외에도 가족 관계나 자기 가치관 등에 대해 이야기를 나누며 밤을 보냈다. 다음 날 아침, 우리는 퀘백에서 또 만날 것을 약속하며 그렇게 헤어졌다.

다음 날 유명한 smoked meat 샌드위치 집인 슈왈츠에 가서 샌드위치를 흡입해주고, 퀘백으로 향했다. 오후 늦게 퀘백에 도착해서 숙소 주변을 조금 돌아다니다 캐리커쳐 그려주는 곳을 발견하고 처음으로 내 얼굴을 그려보기로 했다. 그림을 다 그린 후 길을 나서는 데 저 멀리 누가 손을 흔들어 얼떨결에 같이 인사했는데 알고봤더니 Nuno였다.ㅋㅋ 반갑게 인사를 나누고 사진 한 장을 남기고 그렇게 자연스럽게 헤어졌다.

6월 5일, 퀘백 여행의 마지막날이 되었고, 올드 퀘백을 돌아다니다 기념 선물을 샀다. 역시 나에게 주는 선물도 빠지지 않았다. 메이플이 유명한 캐나다에서 메이플 모양의 귀걸이를 사야겠다고 결심하던 차에 정말 맘에 드는 귀걸이 발견!!ㅋ 바로 지름신 강림해서 질러주셨다.ㅋㅋ 이날 점심은 100년도 더 된 빨간 지붕의 유명한 퀘백 전통 음식 레스토랑에서 우아하게 와인 한잔을 하며 여유롭게 식사를 했다. 그리고 나서 나이아가라보다 폭은 좁지만 더 높다는 몽모랑시 폭포에 가서 무지개도 보고 그렇게 나의 여행은 마무리 되었다.

몬트리올과 퀘백을 여행하고 나서 느낀 점은 독일을 갔다와서 그런지 몰라도 유럽풍의 아기자기한 건물들이 흥미롭기보다 자전거 도로가 차도가 따로 나누어져 있었고, 자전거를 이용하는 사람들이 많았다는 것, 차도 대부분이 일방통행이었다는 것, 불어 사용 등 프랑스 문화에 대한 자긍심이 많다는 것, 그리고 길을 걷는 사람들이나 밥 먹는 사람들을 보면 참 여유로워 보였다는 것이다.

Must go - Niagara Falls (A Trip for a day)

I went to The living water wayside chaple, Inniskillin winery, Butterfly Conservatory and

Niagara Falls.  All places were stunning for me. It was awesome!! amazing..!!!

세상에서 가장 작은 교회, 나비 박물관, 와이너리, 나이아가라..

정말 잊지 못할 여행이 될 것 같다. 감동적인.. 잊지 못할 하루였다.
