TITLE : Korean Dating Superstition

 

In my humble opinion, all countries have their own superstitions. Surely, Korea has plenty of superstitions about wealth, health, luck, love and so on. I would like to explain to you about Korean dating superstitions which I believe or not.

Firstly, if you give your Korean boyfriend or girlfriend shoes as a present, they’ll run away or they’ll cheat on you. In my first case, I received a trainer by from my ex-boyfriend. I don’t believe this superstition. As, I didn’t cheat and run away. Thus, I don’t agree with that. That wasn’t the reason which why I parted with him.     

Secondly, if you catch the bouquet at a wedding, you have to get married within 6 months, or you’ll never get married. When I was 25 years old, I caught the bouquet at my best friend’s wedding. Above Among all my friends, she my best friend married her boyfriend first. Most Koreans believe that. Therefore, nobody wants to catch the bouquet. I’m not different. As a consequence, I was obliged to catch the bouquet at my best friend’s wedding. though I prayed to be for her happiness though. Moreover, I didn’t get married until now.

In my point of view, most superstitions depend on one’s own situations or feelings or emotions. It might be true or not. Although that isn’t true, some people can believe that and can’t believe that.
